In the future I'm looking to get a secondary car to retire my car from being a daily driver. I also wanted to rebuild the engine inthe next 6months-2years. I've come to realize the VG30DETT engine isn't as easy to rebuild than a regular Chevy because of the tighter clearances and etc. Who cares I like a challenge so I've been researching heavy lately. I've been reading Engine Blueprinting Car books even though there based on chevy motors to educate me on the process. There is absolutely no books on the VG30DETT besides the FSM. Meanwhile the Honda camp has books on rebuilding for high horsepower for almost every engine. My pops is not a mechanic and I don't have any friends who've rebuilt a single motor. Why is it so hard on the first timers. I know someone will say just buy an engine package from SGP racing ..etc. I would rather be more involved in the engine building process. I consider myself mechanical savy(This would be my first rebuild) and I can follow instructions from a book as long as it explains it in detail.........Dammit Why can't we just run a poll as to who wants to see Greg Dupree Fully document, picture and make a book on the VG30DETT and include every step on rebuilding the engine to handle 650-750+ reliable horsepower. I'd buy 3 copies I'm pretty sure the Noob's like myself will love this. And If Greg Dupree isn't interested in doing it than what about all the other popular Z tuners ? Then present the poll stats to them to get the ball rolling. How much in labor can you save in building an engine yourself..? What are the best machine shops in the florida area..?
